After a long battle with ovarian cancer, Stephanie Rani Sukhram, 27, passed away on January 21, 2012, at home in Canyon Lake, surrounded by loved ones.
Stephanie was born in Sacramento on October 22, 1984. She was a loving and intelligent child, who dreamt of becoming an attorney like her father. She enjoyed learning new things, hanging out with her friends and spending time with family. She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in and was always there to give a voice to those who had none.
Stephanie was a beautiful, intelligent and talented young woman. Her thirst for life drove her to succeed in everything she attempted. Whether singing, acting, dancing, playing sports or pursuing her education, she strived for and achieved greatness.
Stephanie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego in 2006. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer on March 5, 2008, at the age of 23, she refused to let this terrible illness get in the way of her dreams. Under the difficult conditions of painful surgeries and chemotherapy, Stephanie achieved her Juris Doctorate degree at UC San Francisco, Hastings, and on her first attempt in November 2009, Stephanie passed the Bar, officially making her an attorney.
Stephanie’s insurmountable courage and strength gave inspiration to everyone she encountered. Although her life seemed short to many, those who were touched by her understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Stephanie is survived by her mother Gyan Barringham, her father Paul Sukhram, numerous siblings and her baby Kiran (cat). Services were held January 24 at Miller Jones Mortuary in Murrieta.
