The following departments provided monthly statistics for April 2015.

Police

Canyon Lake Police
Lieutenant Earl Quinata presented the Police Report. The Canyon Lake Police Department handled 274 calls during the month of April, up 25 calls from the previous month.
The report stated there were 9 Part 1 crimes; 2 burglaries, 3 grand thefts/petty thefts, 3 assaults, and 1 rape. There were 2 reports of vandalism, and 3 public intoxication arrests. Under traffic enforcement, 12 traffic citations were issued (includes miscellaneous), 2 DUI arrests, and 3 non-criminal traffic collisions occurred.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol
Securitas Account Manager Jay Cregeen presented the Community Patrol Report.
Community Patrol answered 549 calls for service, down 46 calls from the previous month. Officers issued 234 citations and 5 warnings.

There were 41 speed enforcement citations, 11 stop sign violations, 8 failure to stop for a school bus citations, 121 parking citations, 4 no helmet citations, 1 cell phone citation, 5 noise disturbance citations, 16 identification for access control (gate running) citations, 2 failure to comply citations for failure to show POA/DL/ID, 11 animal related citations, 3 verbal abuse citations and 11 miscellaneous citations.

A total of 23 incident reports were generated. There were 77 gate runners: 16 were trespassers, 61 were members. Community Patrol confiscated 52 POA cards that were expired or not in Dwelling Live, and 62 passes for expired or no Driver’s License or expired guest passes.

There were 20 suspicious person/vehicle calls and 27 loud noise complaints.

Process servers were escorted to 33 locations with an on-scene time at the home of 2 minutes.

Vandalism, graffiti, fire incidents, speed enforcement and stop sign enforcement were noted as concerns for security.

Marine Patrol

Marine Patrol Captain Brandon Samson presented  the Marine Patrol Report. In the month of April, Marine Patrol boats spent 386.1 hours on the lake. There were 144 boat inspections, 28 fishing license/permit checks, 11  boat tows,  5 miscellaneous tows and 7 battery assists.

There were 25 boating safety contacts, 1 violation citation issued for expired CLPOA registration, 1 warning citation for no access beyond dam boundary and 1 warning citation for towing a floatation devise on the Main Lake.

Marine Patrol issued 7 quarantine tags (red) and 46 service seals (white). There was 1 AIS (Aquatic Invasive Species Inspection) “Quagga”, and 1 non-operation agreements.

Fire Services

Fire Captain Brent Carter submitted the Riverside County Fire Department/Cal Fire report. The report indicated that Station 60 responded to 29 calls in Canyon Lake; 22 medical, 2 traffic collisions, 3 public service, 1 false alarm and 1 other. Stations 60 also responded to 3 medical calls and 1 standby call in Riverside County, and 1 other fire Riverside Unit.

There were 24 calls with a response time of less than 5 minutes, 5 calls with a response time of 5-plus minutes and 1 call with a response time of 10-plus minutes.

The average response time was 4.3 minutes.
Canyon Hills Station 94 responded to a total of 32 medical calls in Canyon Lake.

Quail Valley Station 5 responded to 10 medical calls in Canyon Lake.

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement Officer Jean Voshall presented the activity report for April

Four bank owned properties were registered and one stagnant pool was drained. Bank owned properties were inspected for vacancies and maintenance, and steps were started for filing with the County a Notice of Violation for a property with a stop work order.

There were 7 abandoned, non-operable vehicles stored in public view this month. The Sheriff’s dive team removed one truck from the lake on the north end.

Special Enforcement had one call out and mitigated illegal dumping of household hazardous waste found on city boundary with Quail Valley.

Animal Control

There were no reports submitted by Animal Control for the month of April.
